COVID-19

We’re open!

Updated June 04, 2020

The last couple months have been tough on everyone – but we are feeling optimistic about being part of the phase 2 re-opening in BC. We are pleased to announce we will be re-opening on June 8, 2020. Our staff will be contacting everyone who had their appointments cancelled during March, April and May, and those of you who left phone and email messages during the closure. Please give us a call or an email if you’d like to book!

The health and safety of our staff and patients is our top priority. We have developed safety and disinfection protocols in accordance with guidelines set out by the BC Center for Disease Control, WorkSafe BC, and the College of Optometry. We are confident that these measures will minimize risk of disease contact for all staff and patients. We have also modified our hours and booking procedures in order to help maintain social distancing between staff and patients.

When you have an appointment at the clinic, it is going to look a little different. We ask that you follow these instructions when you come to your appointment:

  1. 1. You must complete the COVID-19 Questionnaire form upon arrival to your appointment. Please see copy below. If you answer YES to ANY of the questions, you MUST reschedule your appointment. If you have ANY symptoms of illness, please reschedule your appointment. A $50 fee will be charged for missed appointments. Late arrival of 10 minutes to your appointment will require re-booking.
  2. 2. All patients are asked to wear a fabric or paper face mask. We have paper masks available if you are not able to access your own.
  3. 3. Family and friends are NOT permitted to attend your appointment unless required for physical, communicative, or emotional support. In the case of patients under 18 years old, a parent or guardian is permitted to attend if desired.
  4. 4. Our bathrooms are available only if absolutely necessary. Please plan accordingly and use your bathroom at home/work before you arrive.
  5. 5. Please leave any excess personal items, food and drink in your vehicle during your appointment.

Here are some of the changes we have made to clinic procedures:

  • • Patients’ appointments have been scheduled to ensure social distancing between staff and patients.
  • • We have increased the amount of time between each appointment in order to disinfect all surfaces between patients and to maintain social distancing.
  • • Doctors will be wearing surgical masks during appointments.
  • • Prior to their appointment each patient will answer the COVID questionnaire stating they are symptom-free, have not had potential contact with persons testing positive for COVID-19, and have not been out of the country in the past 14 days.
  • • All common areas and touch points will be disinfected multiple times per day.
  • • All staff will continue practicing hand hygiene procedures – hands washed and disinfected between every patient and procedure.
  • • The debit terminal will be disinfected after every use.

Please help us by practicing hand hygiene upon entering the clinic and after your treatment – there is hand sanitizer available.

Screening Questionnaire:

  1. 1. Do you have any of the following symptoms: fever/feverish, fatigue, nausea, sore throat, nasal congestion, sneezing, new or existing cough and difficulty breathing?
